In the last couple of weeks, we have all witnessed the high cost of gasoline and oil continues to rise, yet again. Will the increase continue? If we continue the demand and cannot immediately come to terms in the mid-east, of course it will. There are also beliefs that the fossil fuels may not be available in the next 50 years. We need an alternative power need, now!

          Solar panel technology has taken many strides to become the decisive renewable source of energy. Many countries such as
Germany and
Japan have given citizens assistance in purchasing the panels and installing on roof tops or in fields owned by residents and businesses. The power is then fed into the power grid thus lessening the amount needed for fossil fuels.

          The cost of solar power is dropping to a point that is almost comparable to the traditional fuels. With many manufacturing plants concentrating on the efficiencies and throughput of the panels the cost will soon surpass that of fossil fuels. There is plenty of area in the
United States desert land to build enough arrays to power the country and be almost completely independent of foreign oil needs. The technology will have a definite impact of the amount of air pollution today.
