My Writing Process

2 04 2008

Chapter nine of “From Inquiry to Academic Writing” has given me assistance in how to provide an introduction to my essay. With the sources that I have been using and the facts that plan to demonstrate, I feel the “inverted triangle” best suits the paragraph to introduce my thesis.  Remembering the metaphor of the essay resembling a “shish-kabob” and the thesis as being the skewer that holds the paragraphs together is a simple way to keep the wording of the essay together and make sense for the reader. I plan to define many terms that are used in solar technology. Many of the sources will be used as synthesis to back others opinions and add depth to my paragraphs. “Challenging the Reader” will be an effort that I hope to achieve by giving my audience the task to make others aware of what efforts are happening with solar power and if the government is aware that renewable energy is a better form of producing power than fossil fuel usage.

Annotating and critiquing my sources has been helpful to adding cited information to my paragraphs and synthesis.
